Bungalow House Plans

Bungalow house plans are very simple in design as it utilizes nature-based materials like stone and wood to construct a home that can only be described as “cozy”.
The blueprint of a bungalow house would often contain low roofs and stone filled porches. There is also the use of columns in the porch area and wide eaves to complete the design. On the inside of a bungalow, every bit of space is accounted for and hallways are hardly ever used in construction.

One story house plans

One-story houses are very common with senior citizens or for families who choose this plan as their permanent home. It is a single story home that is at one level without stairs to climb. Also called single level homes, these houses are energy efficient. Because of it being on one level, the place is easier to cool in the summer and keep warm in the winter.

Plantation house plans

A plantation house plan is reminiscent to that of a southern style design. Plantation blueprints copy that of the homes that existed in the time period of the civil war. So it is not uncommon to see columns being used as well as porches that seem to encircle the house. Windows are also used abundantly to provide a bird’s eye view to the owner of the house who may have their own plantation to oversee. Plantation houses are very popular in the deep south of the country.

Cape Cod House Plans

Simplicity is the name of the game in a Cape Cod House Plan. Don’t expect a well-detailed or elaborate exterior with these houses because they do not exist. What you will find is a well-proportioned design that features small roofs; double hung windows and wood shingles.
These houses are usually built as a two-story with added gables, which gives the interior its brightness.


Victorian House Plans

Victorian House plans are extravagantly designed with many stories up which makes living fit for a queen or a king.
The well designed wraparound porch area serves as the welcome mat to the house, which is majestic and brimming with decorative elements. Much like a modern day gingerbread house, it boasts of having louvered vents, eaves with brackets and posts to capture a more dramatic effect.
The interior of this vintage house is sometimes designed with rooms, which flow into each other.
Modern day Victorian house plans are constructed with home office, sauna and laundry maid’s quarters.


Caribbean House Plans

Caribbean House plans are widely used by those homeowners who live in warm weather climates like Florida and some parts of California. Caribbean house plans have tiled roofs with opened spaces and lots of windows so that breeze can flow in freely.
The floor plan is an open one and design-wise it mixes modern style with traditional elements. Windows are very detailed in design and so too is the door trimming. Verandahs are placed at the back of the house and wraparound porch at the front for afternoon relaxation.

Earth Sheltered House Plans

Earth sheltered house plans are designed for houses that are built either underground or partially underground. They are usually constructed on steep lots.
Earth sheltered house plans utilizes a lot of skylights and clerestory windows so that the house can be solar powered and yet airy. In addition, the exterior walls of these homes are covered with earth making it an energy efficient living space.
