they would end this war! we did not need to go there. now look at how many enemies the U.S has made because of this war. China, Germany, Poland, and Russia all hate us because of Bush. We do not need China or Russia hating us! That can be bad very bad!

Anybody who has over 40 votes to block a cloture vote can filibuster anything.

go look up cloture. closing of debate in Senate: the process of closing a debate in the Senate by calling for a vote. there was a minor attempt last month.

No because they do not have enough votes to. There are 51 senators that are on the democrat side. Tim Johnson 1 of them is a no show due to a major illness. Lieberman would caucus with Republicans if they tried this.

It would be unlikely for Democrats to filibuster... they are in the majority. Filibusters are done by the minority to prevent the passage of bills that the minority dislikes. The Republicans have threatened to filibuster no less than 25 bills before the Senate.
