I just finished watching the democratic presidential candidate debate hosted by CNN and YouTUBE. Although I am not a democrat (I have no party) I still found it very informative and useful and plan on watching the republican counterpart of the debate in September.
I would like to open a discussion about the U.S. political party system. In this country we have (realistically) two options in terms of parties: Republican or Democrat, Conservative or Liberal. There seems to be no tolerance or acknowledged for anything digressing from this norm. My questions are: Do you feel forced into choosing one or the other? Do you think this two party system is flawed? how so? Do you think as a society we have outgrown our 2 party system? Lastly, have you personally outgrown the 2 party system? I anticipate a good dialogue, hope to hear from the answers community. take care. |

We are forced and unfortunately we really have little control who runs this country. I am not implying that we will not ultimately choose the candidate but that the available candidates are not the best of what this country has to offer. The best person for president unfortunately does not have the Washington hook-up or millions of dollars. It is no longer a requirement to have brave men run this country; instead it has become acceptable for draft dodgers to run our country. The bottom line is that you are voting for either a punch in the stomach or a punch in the groin.
