Stop petting and start carrying pieces of his food in your pocket. When he is around throw pieces of food towards him. Don't try to touch him. Let him approach you and initiate anything. After a few days try to feed him from your hand. Don't touch him. Let him smell you. If he sits or stand next to you then you can try to petting, gently and slowly. If you move too fast it will upset him. If he gets startled when petting just let him move away from you. Eventually he will get over this.

he just needs to get use to you. dont try to pet him or pick him up at first but after a few days he will realize you are here to stay and that you mean no harm. try feeding him treats(especially th ones he likes) throwing a toy for him to play with and gradually petting him. at first he is just being territorial but will soon become your friend.good luck!

I know you are tempted to give him a laxitive chocolate but don't. He is afraid of you. Give him little tit bits, a biscuit or doggie drops or something. he will think of food (not you for dinner) every time he sees you. Food is pleasent so seeing you will spark a feeling of pleasure and youi wil become friends.
Best of luck with, Fang |
