Default Why is there more Bi-racial African American involved in Politics than pure

darker blacks? In American history the list is long:Martin luther king ,Barack Obama , Harold Ford

Most of the sharp black politician seam to be light skin bi-racial
Most people are not aware that Barak obama mother is white american. Yes he is dark enough but he got both in his veine

"Sharp black politicians"?

Are you suggesting intelligence comes from the Anglo side of things?

I think it's more due to the physical appearance. Being lighter skinned is viewed as more aesthetically appealing and those people are often treated with less bias than dark skinned people.

If you really want to know more about it and aren't just taking shots at people, then read this: http://www.ksg.harvard.edu/inequality/Seminar/Papers/Hochschild05.pdf

There's actually a lot of documentation on this subject if you want to look up sociology and skin tones.

That's because the majority of African-Americans had at least some white ancestry by the time slavery ended (plus more since).

How did this happen under slavery. Routine rape of female slaves, that's how.

Only lacking people judge by race and not by ideas.

We actually don't know what the various percentages are. A lot of people are involved in politics that aren't the elected officials, so we never see them except locally. Also, even among 'Africans' there are light and dark blacks..not to mention the fact that a fair number of 'whites' have a black relative or two. What you have here is a question without an answer. Anyway, why do you ask?
