you can walk. you can jog. you can dance. Try volleyball. Try tennis. Swimming is AWESOME as well. Eat less, move more. You could also try softball. Set up a regular work out system to stay on track- it wil help you be motivated.

I like playing volleyball. I use the side of my house and one of my kids' dodge-balls (real volleyballs are better, but I improvise) If you hit the ball volleyball style against a wall you hit a lot of different areas of the body; butt, thighs, calves and arms. If you keep your tummy tight (keep your ribs pulled in and your belly-button pulled toward your spine) then you also get a good ab workout, plus it's great cardio. It's fun and it's a great workout.

I hate running, so I did gymnastics. Most gymnasts start young and it's not exactly a "get in shape" sort of thing. I also did some figure skating. I really enjoyed that and did well with it. Was a ton of fun.
Rollerblading, biking, canoeing can be really fun. Soccer is something you could get involved in if your community has some sort of program. |

1. healthy appetite
2. don't eat when you're not hungry 3. do sit ups when watching tv (you can look up good ab workouts online or in most teen magazines) 4. soccer is AMAZING!!!! it's very physically involved and so much fun! 5. jog a mile every day, then add a mile or so about every few days; whenever comfortable. keep pushing yourself to go faster each time. 10min of hard running is better than an hour of easy jogging. 6. jump rope when you cant go outside 7. do "high knees" everywhere you would normally walk in your house. sounds strange, but it's effective. 8. buy some small hand weights and try diferent lifting exersizes when you watch tv (again, can be looked up online) 9. dont eat while in front of the tv 10. portion your food (instead of grabbing the whole bag of chips, put some in a bowl to make sure you dont eat too many) Good Luck! |
