i have a friend tht lives in New jersey and their house costs 300,000 mine costs 113,000 and i have a nice house she says hers is just a lil brick house?? is it jsut because of the state??? i was just curious....

There really isn't an average house cost because it depends on location. For example, I bought a 4 bd/ 2.5 bath in Indiana for $116,900 and the same house in California would have cost $550,000. Same house, sq ft just location.
