from what I remember when I was in lending ( I live in Ohio), any property (at least real estate) titled in one spouse's name is still legally the other spouse's also.

For example, if we were doing a loan on a property in one person's name, the other spouse had to sign off that it was OK with them- even though they were not on the title.
