Today China is far from Democracy.During the 1980s the Reagan administration put a bet that if China would taste the virus of wealth they would easily convert to democracy and get rid of communism..

Today we know it's not true. The chinese Red government were simply over smart.During the 1980s China couldn't not even build a VCR, now they can send a missile to directly target any satellite in the sky.

They are building Super stealth plane better than what American's own presently.Their education system is not only productive but they are now so rich that they can afford buying the service of foreigh brain from Italy,finland, sweden and Japan.

Those good brain usualy flocked to sillicon valley to develop new technology that america need to be competitive.

China's armed forces would be destroyed in short order and even if they achieved strategic parody with America, which they have not nor will for at least another thirty five to forty years, the United States has a nuclear arsenal that would deter China from even starting a war with America.

China's human resources are vast, but no country on earth has the logistic capacity to arm, feed, and continuously supply millions or however many soldiers China has. Also, much of China's armament is outdated. They still have 1970s MIGs in the Airforce, whereas the U.S. is at the forefront of military technology. That being said, neither side is stupid enough to engage in a hot war against one another, but they still might vie for power indirectly through their international influence.

China is a land power....the US is an air and sea power. As long as we hold that advantage there won't be any war. Besides, China is far more vulnerable to attack than the US. A nuclear strike on the Three Gorges dam complex would just about wipe China out..and they know it. We hold them hostage to that complex in the same way that Israel holds Egypt hostage to their Aswan dam complex. War could happen, but its not much of a threat....maybe 2 on the 10 scale!

China owns 321 billion dollars worth of US Treasuries.

Thats 3.5% of all outstanding US Treasury notes.

So I don't see how you can say the US is economicly dependant on China.

As to war with China,

China doesn't have a blue water navy.

They have no way to use thier large Army outside of China.

They neither have the ability to move that army or supply them outside of China.

China has no bombers that can reach the US.

So unless it was a nuclear war, China has no way to hurt the US in any meaningful way.

While the US has the ability to hurt China.

i have no idea....china has 1 billion people...1/6 of the worlds population how many of them are in the army
