Default Investment in Mutual Funds?

I am a student of 24 years and will get around Rs:4000 per month to save. Currently I have no savings and like to invest in mutual funds of ICICI Prudential or LIC or HDFC. Can any one please advice how to do this?
Is PAN required? Will I get a PAN as i am a student and not have any income.
Seeking Good advice with plans to invest. I am ready to risk somewhat 50% to 60% . I want 2 investments plan one I NEED THE RETURNS(around 1 lakh) BACK AFTER 2 YEARS and the other after 5 years(what ever is maximum I can)
