| I bought and this beach house in 2002 and have just about replaced or repaired every part of it. It is 800sf up stairs (and a 8X34 deck) Basically a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, living room, new kitchen, nice big closet with W/D connections. Completely remodeled, new range, HW heater, Refg/ice maker, new dishwasher, new cabinets, new electrical circuits, new plumbing, new floors, new siding, new double pane no rust vinyl insulated windows, sheet rocked all walls. I have started repainting the outside, didn't like the first color we picked and am building a new 24X8 deck on the front. (I have to sell this place to be able to working on it.) 2 new air conditioners last summer. It has central heat, that I have hardly needed at all this winter. You get the picture lots of work, I have made this a very solid house. Down stairs totally concreted under the house. I built a very very cute apt with kit/bath/bedroom/living room, about 450 sqft. Built a storage room about 120sf. Closed in and insulated all under the floors. Planned to live here forever. Forever for me came sooner than expected, and now I have got to move closer to family and doctors. It is located on MAE Street in Gilchrist Tx,77617 (use Google Map and you can see it) has nice but, not water front, views of both Gulf and Bay, 4 short blocks from Rollover Pass where the fishing is great. It also has Handicapped ramp a rare thing for beach houses. Might even throw in a nice 1996 4wheel drive GMC Sonoma PU for your beach/fishing truck, if I don't sell it first. Some health problems have hit me kinda hard. Write and let me know what you would like to do. If you might be a serious buyer then we can work out your visit to inspect it. Sunshine, cools breezes, and waves lapping on shore to put you sleep all free. This is a quite little village 20 miles east of Galveston, and 45 miles from Houston. I am the owner, a retired Firefighter, part time carpenter from Shreveport, La. where I will be moving back to soon. This is a nice place, I have put a lot in to it and its priced right to sell quick. |
