Cathy and I are the owners of these homes. I am a musician, by profession, and Cathy is a pricing analyst for Lockheed Martin. These were originally our intended winter and summer homes. Initially our plan was to divide up the year, staying half the year in one location (Grover, Utah) and the remainder in Saint George, Utah. Unfortunately our professions have required us to commute between the two homes (a four hour commute, one way). Making weekends the only feasible time in which we could visit our summer home in the mountains. With that being the reality, we decided to break away from our former plan, sell our two homes and invest in a single home.
About My Area
Saint George has ideal winter temperatures from about late September through April, making outdoor activities a more pleasant experience than most areas of the country. The summers do tend to get a bit warm, with temperatures topping out into the low hundreds most days, unless cooled down by the summer monsoon rains. Outdoor activities in town are then best enjoyed during the early mornings or late evenings. However there is an easy escape from the heat by heading about twenty to thirty miles north of town to the Pine Valley area. The town itself is at 6,500 feet in elevation, with picnic grounds, hiking trails and camping nearby, and if you really want to cool down, Cedar Breaks National Park is over 10,000 feet in elevation and is only about one and a half hours away.
