Citra is an unincorporated community in North East Marion County, Florida. It is the home of the pineapple orange. The community is part of the greater Ocala Metropolitan Area. Marion County is generally composed of rolling hills and is considered one of the equestrian capitols of the United States with over 1,200 horse farms in the area. Being centrally located makes Marion County one hour from Disney World, theme parks, and beaches. Some popular area activities include hunting, fishing, water skiing, golf, canoeing, and horseback riding.
